A Rite of PassageSmears of dark crimson adorned stone floors with memories of violence past, the stains painted with a visceral efficiency. Ages had dulled their vibrancy, but had not lessened the scent of struggle and death. This was a chamber that had seen the passing of souls; it had seen dreams destroyed by the cold steel of a sword and hopes drained away with a gush of blood.  
 
 Four figures crowded solemnly together within the stony confines, attempting to mimic their surroundings with façades of calm. Two were iron clad, masses of muscle and steel whose hawk-like gazes remained trained on their targets. The subject of their stares A Rite of Passage

Barbarism's BestBeneath soaring treetops, Captain Nikolai Ulva marched through the brush and brambles without much thought of stealth or caution; his concern lay not on the disturbed plants beneath his booted feet. An Extra ArmDark crimson rivers streamed effortlessly down the marred gaps in Commander Shepard's armor, painting the normally grey suit in a fresh paint of red. Mimicking the Nile, one rivulet gushed soundlessly to the metallic panels below, pooling outward at her booted feet. The blood's source, radiating away from the ravaged wound in the soldier's chest, was a gaping image of torn flesh, broken only by the presence of the metal within. Strawberries.

The bane of my existence…

Due to the fact that I, for the first time in my entire life, found that I am rather violently allergic to the little (yummy) red devils.


Now… I am off to a Benadryl induced coma. I will attempt to speak to you all as soon as I am physically capable.

************ UPDATE*************

Well boys and girls... I survived!

After several miserable days of Benadryl induced comas and steroid induced emotional roller-coasters, I have emerged triumphant. Strawberries, which I will still love and unintentionally eat, are still sitting in my fridge. Lucky for them, however, they won't be eaten by me anytime soon.

Looks like I'll have to stick to all other kinds of fruit (except for pears... not a huge fan of pears).
